Room to build, ground to respect
Helotes is on the northwest edge of San Antonio where the Hill Country begins, and it is one of the towns we build in. We take on custom homes, renovations, outdoor living projects and construction management for owners here.
Lots in Helotes tend to have more room and more character than city lots, which is exactly why the site deserves a careful look before anything is drawn.

What Helotes lots ask of a build
The land around Helotes rises into hills with limestone near the surface. A sloped lot can give a home a great view, but it also means planning cut and fill, retaining walls and drainage so water moves away from the house and not toward it.
Much of the area sits over the Edwards Aquifer recharge and contributing zones, where added rules can apply to grading and impervious cover. We look at those requirements early so the design does not have to change late.
Bigger lots also leave room for the outdoor living people move here for: a covered patio facing the hills, an outdoor kitchen, a pool. Planning those with the house gets the grading, drainage and utilities right the first time. Adding them later usually means tearing up finished work to run gas, water and power where they need to go.
